Phantasialand in Brühl packs an extraordinary amount into roughly 70 acres. Its themed areas — Klugheim, Rookburgh, Mystery and Deep in Africa — are vertically stacked and among the most atmospheric in Europe.

Taron, Black Mamba and the flying coaster F.L.

Y. are all regularly ranked in the world's best, and the on-site Charles Lindbergh and Matamba hotels support long stays.

The trade-off is a small ride count and heavy congestion on peak days.

BEST TIME TO VISIT · September to October
