Longest Roller Coasters in the World
A long track changes the rhythm of a ride. Instead of building to one drop and returning to the station, it can carry you through several distinct sequences, terrains or launches. But length is distance traveled, not time spent at speed: a fast train can cover a marathon course surprisingly quickly.
This list orders operating coasters in our researched catalog by published track length in meters. We exclude rides without a documented length rather than guessing from satellite images, and leave closed coasters to the historical leaderboard. Wooden and steel courses appear together because both cover the same physical distance, even if they use that distance very differently.
Compare a sprawling terrain ride with a compact launched ride and the trade-off becomes clear: the former offers a journey, the latter concentrates its energy. Use the park links to see whether the long ride is a one-off attraction or part of a deeper lineup worth planning a full day around.
